Legends of the Fall 27.09.07
Sept 21 is behind us, Fall has arrived. Well, here nothing turns red or orange, plam trees are not losing their leaves, birds are not nesting, and with 35 degrees I barely feel we are approaching the end of the year.
I am just back from a trip to my home country. A busy schedule in Zurich in Geneva but I met interesting people at a conference. I could stay with friends in Geneva and visited the newly born Maya, another nippon-swiss creature. My friends having their first kid while our elder son is already 5, the gap created by years that are passing to fast. I forget Ramdan times while in Europem but tomorrow we are going to Kuwait, driving through Saudi, for the week-end. I was happy to come back to Bahrain. First, I caught a cold in Geneva. Monday night I went out and had to wait long minutes for a friend, walking downtown under a typical September cold rain. Got sick. As ususal in Geneva, and so unusual since I moved to Bahrain. Am happier with the heat now. When I was living in Geneva I had this typical feeling that the city was the center of the world. As Geneva born spoiled kid the world was evolving around Geneva (around me ? this has not changed...). I liked Zurich but still had the feeling that the language, the culture, the people, everything was far away from my values. Nowadays, visiting, conducting meetings and staying in Zurich, and doing the same in Geneva, I changed to the opposite. I like Zurich a lot, feel people more open and friendly, feel that the city has much more to offer, is more livingful than Geneva. Will I come back one day ?
